Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
ToolifyApps ("we", "us", "the site") is built around a simple principle: your data should stay on your device. Most of our tools are pure browser-based utilities — text, files, and images are processed locally and never uploaded to a server. This policy explains exactly what data we do collect, what we don't, and what we do with it.
The short version
- The text, files, and content you put into our tools stay in your browser. We never see it.
- We use a privacy-respecting analytics platform (Google Analytics) to count visits in aggregate. No individual user is identified.
- We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party.
- We use essential cookies only. You can opt out of analytics via your browser settings.
What we collect
Tool inputs
None. Text you type into the Word Counter, images you drop into the Image Compressor, JWTs you decode, hashtags you generate — none of these reach our servers. All processing happens in your browser using JavaScript and Web APIs.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (when configured) to understand which tools are most useful, how visitors find us, and how the site performs. Analytics records:
- Pages visited and time spent (in aggregate).
- Approximate location (country / city level — never street address).
- Device type and browser.
- Referring website (how you arrived).
This data is anonymous in aggregate. We never identify individual users from it.
Local storage
Some tools save your preferences in your browser's localStorage — for example your selected theme (Light / Dark / Gradient). This data never leaves your device and you can clear it via your browser's settings.
Cookies
The site sets:
- One analytics cookie set by Google Analytics (when enabled). Used to count unique visitors.
- One preference cookie/localStorage entry for your theme selection.
You can block these via your browser's privacy settings without breaking site functionality.
What we don't collect
- Your name, email, phone number, or address (we don't ask).
- The text or files you put into our tools.
- Your IP address (Google Analytics anonymizes it).
- Any biometric or tracking identifier.
- Fingerprinting data (canvas, font, audio fingerprints).
Third-party services
The site uses a small number of third-party services for its operation:
- Google Analytics — for aggregate visitor statistics. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Hosting provider (Vercel / similar) — for serving the site. They see request metadata (IP, user agent) for security/abuse prevention but do not store the content of your tool inputs because we don't transmit it.
- YouTube image CDN — used by the YouTube Thumbnail Downloader. When you fetch a thumbnail, your browser requests it directly from YouTube's CDN. YouTube may log that request per their policy.
We do not use third-party advertising, retargeting, or social tracking pixels.
Children
The site is suitable for all ages and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have accidentally received data from a minor, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Under European GDPR and California CCPA, you have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you (we hold none in identifiable form).
- Request deletion of personal data.
- Opt out of analytics.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email in the Contact page.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 30 days.
